What if... some in Government weren't *too* concerned if the mortality rate rises?
I don't mean anything as obvious and crude as Logan's Run Carousel (can you imagine?) No euthanasia here!
But what if they decide not to prioritise things that keep older folks alive? Do you think it would even be possible to tell? Or to do anything about it?

Because life expectacy recently stopped rising, and even reversed for the poorest in society. That's after decades of improvement. So that would suggest they're not trying particularly hard to keep them alive.
