The tweet up-thread, from last June, shows Dan Kelly holding a long gun at the Wisconsin Firearms Training Center in Brookfield. That's where he held the fundraiser last Thursday night—with donation levels named for different caliber ammunition. Ugly.

Dan Kelly wrote a state Supreme Court ruling in 2017 overriding a local law prohibiting passengers from bringing guns on city buses. The law was upheld by a circuit judge and the state court of appeals—but smashed into Kelly's partisan judicial activism.

Kelly is a GOP operative in judicial robes. He's doing everything he can to show the gun lobby that he'll do their bidding, no matter the toll of gun violence in our state. It's part of his larger pattern: no matter what the law says, he sides with right-wing special interests.

Thankfully, Kelly has an opponent: Judge Jill Karofsky. @JudgeKarofsky is well aware of the reality of Second Amendment jurisprudence, not the distorted NRA caricature in which the Founders wanted every individual American to arm themselves to the teeth. jillforjustice.com

@judgekarofsky Democrats across Wisconsin—as well as independents and even Republicans who think justices should stand for the law and justice, rather than far-right partisan special interests—are supporting Jill for Justice. So that we don't have to see headlines like, side by side.

@judgekarofsky Dan Kelly and his allies are already running an ugly campaign. We can expect their attacks to grow ever uglier and more desperate—because they know that if everyone voting in the Democratic presidential primary on April 7 votes for Jill, she'll win. So let's get the word out.
