Now the committee is being told by the association of Tennessee police chiefs that getting rid of gun permits will put officers in jeopardy. With that, the vice chair tells him he has one minute left.

The committee is hearing from a mother her lost her son in the Waffle House shooting. It was strategic to move forward knowing much of the press is occupied elsewhere today.

Sen. Bell is now whining that law enforcement opposed his other gun bills. Considering the increasing levels of gun violence, they were right.
Sen. @katrinafortn nailed it. Tennessee rejected 1,001 permits last year. They won’t have to bother with a permit under this legislation.
How are we supposed to debate this when one side has lived experience and CDC data, and the other side keeps saying “good people and evil doers” like a 5-year-old?

Permitless carry passed. If the gun freak legislators were consistent in their dumbass logic, we’d have same-day voter registration and legal weed.
