This is the statement from the Turkish authorities - the governor of Edirne. It details the injuries. The Greek authorities have, at times of tweet, not responded to the allegations.

NEW: A categorical denial by the Greek authorities - they say they fired no live rounds.
So who did fire the rounds? There’s no question that shots were fired. If the rounds could be recovered it could be easy to establish if they were from Greek army / police / border guard weapons.
Could they be from vigilante-types who are present on Greek side? We’ve seen them.

We are at the hospital where the injured migrants were brought. The Turkish authorities are keen we see them. They have also shown us this bullet they say was recovered from one of the injured.
There is a very unpleasant game going on here of blame, counter-blame and denial.

As far as we can ascertain, the migrants who were shot are from Afghanistan, Iran & Pakistan.
The migrant who died was called Gulzar, from Pakistan. We have just chatted to a migrant who was with Gulzar when he died.
Gulzar’s wife is also here and is distraught.

The man has told us that he was on the Turkish side of the border and the shots came from the Greek side. He did not see who fired them.
