NEW: Michel Barnier says the difficulties which will arise as a result of the decisions the UK has taken are "underestimated"

Barnier says there are some "very difficult" areas of disagreement. But that he pays tribute to David Frost and the British civil service.
Barnier: "UK has spent a lot of time this week insisting on its independence. No-one disputes that. We ask UK to respect EU independence." Says just as UK puts conditions on access to its market EU does the same.
