New experience: gave keynote this morning via FaceTime (Thank you Georgia Infection Prevention specialists!). Here are some things I shared. Apologies for the medical lingo: 
There's a lot of talk about burnout in medicine, but this pandemic presents a unique opportunity. The entire focus is on caring for patients. That's it. All the nonsense takes a backseat. Coronavirus is why we went into medicine.
Based on data from West coast, we see: presenting symptoms = fevers, cough/SOB, low/normal WBC, mild bump in LFTs. Procal very low. Rare AKI. CXR = interstitial pattern; CT = groundglass.
Key strategy for sick patients = Early intubation. Acquiring ventilators is crucial. Create a triage plan. Avoid steroids when possible. Important difference: Flu deaths often from refractory hypoxemia; coronavirus deaths from cardiac disturbances.
All eyes are on Iran (1234 new cases today) but we must watch India. Just 31 confirmed cases. What are we missing?
