I pointed out that Judge Walton's conclusion about Barr's intentional misrepresentation of #MuellerReport puts the Attorney General in legal jeopardy for lying to Congress.

2. It is a federal crime if anyone (including the Attorney General) "falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact" in statement to Congress.

As @jentaub identified the statute.

3. Ask any lawyer to read Judge Walton's opinion describing Barr's wrongdoing and whether that matches definition of "falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact."

But @andersoncooper's Q explicitly bracketed federal role: "whether there should be a federally mandated directive for that or not I guess that's more of a political question, just scientifically doesn't everybody have to be on the same page"
2. Fauci's reply:

"As you said, the tension between federally mandated versus states rights to do what they want IS SOMETHING I DON'T WANT TO GET INTO. But if you look at what is going on in this country, I do not understand why we are not doing that. We really should be."
3. I wish Fauci would have called for a federally mandated stay at home order, because without it ... while the White House is dithering ... many more lives will be lost.

Shows “hundreds of thousands of times” Trump admin invoked #DefenseProductionAct for body armor for border agents, drones etc.

But Trump has balked at doing it for nurses, doctors on covid frontlines!

2. More lack of pandemic preparedness:

Larry Hall: “You have people on the civil side saying, ‘What is this thing? I might get in trouble using it.’”

FEMA, HHS discussed DPA in training, but Hall often had to press his superiors to prepare for its use in the event a pandemic.
3. Also Larry Hall “said such caution had allowed understanding of the law’s powers to atrophy.”

Hall “retired in August [2019] as the director of the Defense Production Act program division at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.”

2/ He complained to the Attorney General that Barr's summary of Mueller's investigation of President Trump “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of his investigation. Robert Mueller followed up the next day with a 15-minute phone call with Barr.

On March 7, Barr had a notable meeting with Attorney John Huber of #Utah, who had been appointed as vice chair of the AG’s Advisory Committee by former AG @JeffSessions to investigate “all the allegations that the House Judiciary Committee members sent to us.”

#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.
