1. When I returned to finish my degree at @UMassAmherst I recall being in a class that was about warfare and involved the role of women in society. The Amherst - Northampton area was always a center of feminist thought and any discourse in regard to women's rights was spirited.
2. The great fraud that is directed to women is that they're not tough-enough to be President. I engaged early to back the forces fighting #ISIS in #Kobane that were made up of a mixed male-female force dedicated to equality of all persons. We witnessed acts of bravery in combat
3. by women that would match those of any male fighter. But back in that class, I lamented that the way women will move closer to equality is by being allowed to fight in combat. I lamented that is was sad that adopting something like warfare was the test of equality.
4. I pledge to work to see a women in the role of Commander in Chief. Nobody should think for a minute that this is not the time. But like the day in that class, I remain of a mind that the woman who takes the reigns of power will likely come from the front lines of law
5. enforcement, the IC or the military. It's not right and we should not be satisfied until the only thing about seeing a woman in the Oval Office is that we'd so gotten used to it we didn't even notice. 😎✌️
