1. I'm 100% Irish 🍀. We had one Republican in our family who I'm aware of: My oldest sister. I have two. Even though a GOP, she was worse than my dad on bigotry. I remember occasions when I was abt 10 years old & she was 16 with a driver's license. Our mom sent us to the store.
2. Someone said something bigoted standing in the checkout-line & my sister started an almost robotic staccato, "bigot, bigot, bigot . . ." until the bigot shut up. Exhilarating. She's the only Republican that I'm aware of. Ever. In the 150 years we've been here. @JoeBiden
3. Fun Fact: She was invited to Nixon's inaugural at the Smithsonian. That was the hot ticket in 1969. She was on the list to be Nixon's NSA general counsel. Every family's got one. 😎

1. Am I correct that @SenSanders, as the #Vermont at-large House member, voted for 2001 #AUMF? It's my understanding that House member @RepBarbaraLee was the only member to vote no.
2. That's the vote that has us in #Afghanistan, #Syria and #Iraq and justified #Guantanamo. We all agree the 2002 AUMF for Iraq re-invasion was foolish. If we want to talk about that then we should talk about the fact that two of the folks who hid Saddam's nuke program are

.@BernieSanders "class" obsession doesn't really play in a country like the US that has billionaires who came from from what Bernie would call the working class. What we usually call regular Americans. @MikeBloomberg is self-made and proves Bernie's Marxist rhetoric is silly.
All we have to do is return to progressive tax system. A term that does not denote the political "Progressives." It means you tax the wealthy at higher rates. Based on economic theory. It brought the American Dream until the Koch Nightmare.
I rarely hear Bernie single out the Kochs. I could have missed it but I'm sensitive to them and think I would have remembered more times he went after them. I always says "the billionaires." To a revolutionary ideologue like Sanders, Bloomberg and Kochs are essentially the same.

1)One thing that I have found out is that when you are getting heavy flak, you are over the target. It seems that the false &/or petty attacks are really centered on 1 #GOP #IL14 candidate, coming from both parties, & that is @CatalinaLauf #OurFutureOurFight matches well here...
2)Not because she did anything wrong, but nonsense like gaps in employment history (anyone in their 20s not have gaps in their employment History), & not aware of the name of every leftist Bill/Amendment that has no chance regardless of her knowledge on what she's passionate #smh
3)Also, let's drain precious resources from a local Campaign in farce court proceedings on a claim of falsified signatures even though she had well over the amount with greater than 90% deemed perfect meaning no one did research, just a local #WitchHunt

Few people, journalists included, have any idea of the scale of fundamentalist philanthropy that funds the culture wars. But in 2016 the National Christian Foundation gave out just under $1.4 billion in grants. NCF supports creationism & the claim that the Bible is infallible.
NCF is the biggest philanthropy of The Gathering, a yearly confab of neo-fundamentalist multi-millionaires & billionaires conceived of at a 1985 meeting of "friends" at "The Cedars", the Alexandria, VA mansion retreat of The Fellowship which hosts the National Prayer Breakfast.
The Gathering has long kept a very low public profile. I discovered it in 2011 and promptly downloaded its audio archive of talks given at the event that went back to 1996. A couple of years later that archive was wiped from the official website of The Gathering. Too late!

1. Look, @SteveSchmidtSES, I get it. You want your party back from Trumpism - you want space for the ideologies on which you've staked your careers. Same for other Never Trumpers like @MaxBoot, @DavidJollyFL or @davidfrum. Running @HowardSchultz as an IND in 2020 isn't the way.
2. The #GOP didn't get here overnight. The Southern Strategy, the alliance with Evangelicals, the anti-intellectualism, the systemic voter suppression - this has been a set trajectory for decades. One you were all a part of, even though you may not like where you landed.
3. And, yes, it may be that your party is forever ruined and a new one must rise, but there is no quick fix. Running Howard as an independent allows you to bypass the primary process. Claiming he is an "independent-centrist" is disingenuous. Independent of what?

One of the messages that changed my approach to life and my life itself was by Pastor Poju a few years ago and it was titled “How Your Thoughts About Others Affect Your Own Life.”

For the past few years, that teaching has shaped my attitude towards others and changed my life.
I was born into a church where the mantra was that for it to be well with you, it must be woeful for someone else - and this is reflective of African society where people believe that their inadequacies are the fault of someone else blocking them or taking away their shine.
I must have listened to that message over 100 times since then and internalised the lessons to a point where I now find it difficult to wish ill on anyone else, even when the person clearly manifests to me as an adversary.

A heart filled with hate can rarely make progress.
