While public school enrolments continue to grow, so too does the state and federal government’s obscene commitment to the dance studios and capital portfolios of private schools.
As student numbers grow in our public schools, the number of demountable buildings in the state’s 2,200 public schools has increased by 41 per cent from 4,665 in 2017 to 6,578 in September 2019.
Courtesy of deliberate government policies, in 2017 capital expenditure in Independent schools was 5 times greater per student than in public schools. In Catholic schools the spending was two and a half times higher.
