The first confirmed COVID-19 death in the U.S. was at Life Care in Kirkland on Feb 29. Eight days later, they still haven't been able to get enough tests for all the residents.

And "[s]taff have not been tested, though officials would like to test them."

On Feb 19, Life Care had 120 residents. Since then, 26 have died, at least 13 from COVID-19 (11 deaths were not tested). 54 residents have been hospitalized; 6 still at the center have symptoms.

Life Care had 180 employees. 70 now show symptoms; they were "asked to stay home."
We still don't know how many Americans have been tested for COVID-19, but according to the FDA's reported figures, the absolute max number is 2,930.

American labs are known to have run tests on 5,861 specimens so far – but each individual patient needs between 2 and 20 tests.
A week ago, HHS Secretary Azar said in an interview that "we've already tested over 3,600 people for the virus." That wasn't true – it was under 500 people tested at the time, from about 3,000 samples.
Yesterday, Azar said the gov't had shipped out 75K tests, and that a private company had shipped another 700K. Later that day, another HHS official said the private company had managed to increase that to 1.5 million – exactly matching the number Pence promised on Wednesday.
And although on Friday HHS claimed it hit the goal of 1.5 million tests set by Pence, HHS Sec. Azar was telling reporters on Thursday that the gov't would fall short of that: "The real figure will be less than half a million tests by the end of the week." vice.com/en_us/article/…
Obviously things are in a state of flux right now with the federal government's coronavirus response, and no one knows exact figures.

But given the false numbers that have been previously put out, why should we believe their new numbers are any more true than the last ones were?
