Motion is an extremely powerful social signal that we use to attribute intentions to others. From the still image we see only simple shapes, but by adding motion, we automatically start attributing emotions and purposes to the ‘characters’.
To me, the large triangle seemed like a bit of a bully😡, the small triangle a victim😱, and the circle wanted to help but was hiding in fear. This just shows the vast amount of social information we can ascertain from simple motion.

There is a lot of confusion about the concept of good in #economics. While thinking of goods as products (or services) is an easy shorthand, it doesn't quite capture economic reality. And it induces logical mistakes and outright errors. Economics is not primarily about physical

And that question is: what does it matter if 600,000 people ride the subway today instead of the 700,000 average weekday trips of yesterday. Similar question can be asked of falling bus ridership? If people have found a better way around, then, so what?
Thing is, it's not that simple. And these large figures require contextual analysis. First, Metro has significantly disrupted peoples' lives with lousy service -- thus resulting in lower ridership. And the lack of service of weekends, for instance, harms folks, too.

@aoc's expansionary, unconstrained domestic spending proposal #GND (Green New Deal) is based on #MMT (Modern Monetary Theory).

It argues only regulating inflation & unemployment matters, not
deficits.

I'll let @paulkrugman handle MMT's explicit problems. Mine are with its implicit presumptions:
1—We know how to manage long term vs short term
2—Global interdependencies don't matter
3—permission for uncapped spending
4—ignoring effect of aging
5—We can control inflation post-MMT
1) LT vs ST
Even w/traditional keynesianism, we are terrible at ½ the theory. SAVE during booms, spend during downturns. We've got the 2nd half down. Not the first one. Is there anything in our history that might suggest we are capable or willing to make good LT rate decisions?
