It would be idiotic to make an assessment of today’s major drop in Oil Prices w/o consideration of China’s relationship with Venezuela...

You will hear almost nothing about this in today’s news; China has propped them up for years, backed by VZ oil.

VZ is EXTREMELY mineral rich! However, most of their fields are what is called ‘Heavy Oil’ (look it up), making it more difficult (ie expensive) to extract.

Low oil prices destroy VZ’s ability to produce it; the Chinese are leveraged on a bad investment!
I’m not sure what the production cost per barrel is in VZ anymore, bc their economy isn’t just shit - it’s also full of shit!

I have a friend that went in 2016 - traded $200 US on the black market and had a freaking duffle bag full of cash... and no where to spend it.

In #Futures Trading, both the buyer & the seller are #obligated to settle the contracts on or before expiry ie cover shorts or longs or rollover to next contract, regardless of how the underlying asset price moves.
With #Options the buyer has the #Right, but not the #Obligation, to buy (call option) or sell (put option) on underlying asset. The option seller is #passive and must comply with whatever the option buyer does.

Best "recession" ever. Just last week Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia announced their:

Shipping index jumped 7pts
Employment index jumped 12.2pts
Prices paid index jumped 20.2pts
Prices received index jumped 7.8pts
Future employment index jumped 5.6pts
Philly FED index also stated that:

Future general activity index dropped 11.8 pts
New orders index dropped one 1pt
Current general activity index only dropped by 4.8 pts (less than expected)
In other words, Companies are seeing a drop in profit margins (prices paid vs prices received), they continue to hire, current demand is high. Yet, they believe the media and expect a "recession" going forward. A "recession" that isn't being seen by their current numbers.

@Foster_Science have you met DJ Savarese? I am quite certain you haven't. I have. You're writing a critique of someone's competence based entirely on a diagnosis you didn't make having never assessed him yourself. That's the definition of ableism.
Did you reach out to the folks who have worked professionally with DJ Savarese? Have you at least seen him as a child in the documentary Loving Lampposts? Because @Foster_Science you're attacking a human being in the name of writing an academic paper about FC.
Doesn't science require rigorous fact checking? It's quite easy to attack FC, it's a big target. Doesn't take much work on an academic's part to phone in a paper like this. The lack of concern for the DJ tells me a great deal more about you than I care to know.
