A lot of people seem to think that all we need right now is public health leadership, for politicians to listen to the scientists.
That's wrong. We're going to need a lot of political and moral leadership. We're going to have to sacrifice on behalf of each other.

People are going to lose wages, jobs, opportunities, time. A lot of folks who aren't personally at risk are going to have to endure disruption to help those who are.
If we don't find a way to talk about that, and help make each other whole in it, we'll fail.

We need people to be able to afford health care and take sick days.
But even beyond that, it has to be economically possible for people to participate in social distancing, to abide by voluntary quarantines, to balance their jobs and having their kids home on weekdays.
