1. This AM, I published a piece on @darden, which operates @olivegarden & other restaurants. 1700+ in the US

I highlighted that, except where required by law, none of @darden's 170K+ workers got paid time off

10 hours later the company reversed course

6. This is good news for @darden employees but the problem is systemic. Less than half of workers in the restaurant sector get paid time off.

1. I wanted to provide an update on my story about @kroger, the nation's largest supermarket chain that does not provide sick leave to all of its employees.

I contacted several Kroger reps days ago and heard nothing.

@kroger 2. Today, I finally heard from one of the people I contacted, Teresa Dickerson. She's the Kroger Corporate Affairs Manager for the Delta Division.

Her email had the subject line: "Inaccurate information regarding Kroger Delta Division"

Here was her message, in full:
@kroger 3. She attached the policy, which I've attached to this tweet.

But here was the problem.

I EXPLICITLY REPORTED ON THAT POLICY IN MY ORIGINAL PIECE.

AND IT IS NOT PAID SICK LEAVE.

.@kroger is the biggest supermarket chain in the United States.

It has 453,000 employees and many receive no sick leave.

Even after 2 employees tested positive for COVID-19, @kroger still won't provide paid sick leave to everyone

@kroger Instead of paid sick leave, @kroger is providing 2 weeks paid leave ONLY to people who test positive for COVID-19 or are placed under mandatory quarantine

This is insufficient to protect staff and the public, especially with little testing available

National Public Radio is out begging for donations this week, with major stations like Washington's WAMU offering gifts like those silly reusable grocery bags touting the "Power of Truth." But the truth can be pretty embarrassing. Apparently, NPR exploits cheap labor.
Washington Post media reporter Paul Farhi has revealed that according to union representatives, 20% to 22% of NPR's 483 union-covered newsroom workforce, or 1 in 5 employees, are temps ... and NPR has been doing this for decades.

2. In 2005 JAMES COMEY took over this investigation. LOIS LERNER was transferred into the IRS to run the Tax Exemption Branch. Guess who ran the Tax Division inside the Dept of Injustice from 2001 to 2005? U.S. Asst. Attorney General, ROD ROSENSTEIN.
3. ROBERT MUELLER = FBI Director. These 4 were all briefed and/or were front-line investigators into the Clinton Foundation Investigation. Hillary is running the State Dept on her personal server & sells 20% of US Uranium to the Russians. America got nothing!
