Joe Biden continues to offer demonstrably false & laughable excuses for his Iraq war vote. Tonight he told MSNBC’s @Lawrence that he voted for the war... “to try to prevent a war from happening”:
In July 2003 -- six months after the US invasion he claimed he voted to "prevent" by authorizing it -- Biden said he would vote the exact same way: "It was a right vote then, and it'd be a correct vote today."
Hillary Clinton's Iraq war vote cost her in 2016. With Biden in 2020 we'd have a candidate who 1) led the Senate Democratic push for war 2) Now makes false claims to excuse it.

So the difference between Hillary & Biden is that Biden is
even more of a warmonger & lies about it.

Before a pandemic, there was a time when we were relentlessly told to fear Russian social media accounts. Their juvenile memes not only elected Trump, but also "sowed chaos." When Mueller indicted 13 Russians over it, he was hailed as a hero. Well, DOJ just dropped the case:
For a snapshot in time, this was the NYT homepage after the Russian troll farm indictment back in February 2018. Russia, we were told, "is engaged in a virtual war against the United States."
Given the very real crisis that we are facing now, I'm wondering if it's sinking for more people what a ridiculous farce 3+ years of hyperventilating about stolen emails and juvenile social media memes was.

Bernie Sanders just did a live Fox News town hall in Michigan, taking Qs from hosts & audience. Meanwhile, after avoiding live interviews & limiting public events, Joe Biden is doing a pre-recorded interview w/ MSNBC's @Lawrence O'Donnell. A reminder of his journalistic record:
In August 2019, @Lawrence claimed to have discovered that Russian oligarchs signed Trump's bank loans. He was forced to retract this the following day.
In July 2018, @Lawrence had on Tom Arnold for a lengthy interview that treated him as a serious player in the Michael Cohen saga and someone who could seriously threaten Trump. Lawrence called Tom "Trump's worst nightmare."

The most harmful element of the progressive left right now is not social media users, real & imagined, who say mean things.

It’s credulous opportunists who cater to that trope and serve its sole purpose of undermining the progressive left as it’s close to real power.
Who in Bernie's movement is claiming that "there is no space for a moment of levity in a primary election", or has a "Manichean, abusive, my-exact-way-or-the-highway approach to assembling a winning coalition"? Who exactly is he talking about? This is abusive via straw man.
Bernie movement is joyous, welcoming, gracious. We're not talking about a splinter left faction: it's a mass movement funded by working people. I can't think of anything more welcoming in my lifetime. & if someone isn't joyous, I also wouldn't blame them: it's a hard/scary time.
