Oh look. Dominic Cummings secretly working with Vote Leave data firm on coronavirus project, acc to @wired. Excuse me while I go & dust off legal letter @faculty_ai (formerly ASI) sent me when I asked qs about working with Cummings before the election

The point is we voted Vote Leave into power knowing they’d broken law, lied & refused to answer qs on their conduct. And now the fate of our nation rests on trusting that they are making critical decisions in accountable & transparent ways based on best possible info. You?
Can you ‘cheat’ Coronavirus? Is that the strategy? Can it be rigged? Like, say, an election? Should we be reassured that Vote Leave data bros are back in town? Or would we be better served knowing - & trusting - govt will heed & follow best advice of our best public servants?

The govt MUST release data/models/everything now. We need total transparency. Science is not science unless it's open to scrutiny. It is STILL not following @who advice. It is not testing. WHY?
The underlying data *MUST* be made public.

UK govt still not testing. Even frontline NHS staff exposed to virus/w' symptoms. Based on what data??

Imperial paper shows school closure wd reduce numbers. Govt says not. Where is the data??
Believe me when I say to you, you cannot trust this government to be open & transparent with data. That you cannot expect it to respect norms or even the law.

Trust can *only* come from transparency.

This is the key terrifying graph from the latest @imperialcollege #covidー19uk modelling. The red line right at the bottom is the max number of ICU beds. Note, that we've been on the "do nothing" upper black line trajectory until pretty much today
This is what exponential growth looks like. A rocket taking off. So much was fudged & obfuscated today, but Johnson did say we have entered the "acceleration" period. Notice how on the graph, we are still safely under the red line right now...
Vital interventions that could have been taken have not been taken. Look at the curve. Actions matter. But mass events - @stereophonics concerts! - were held this w'end because of lack of govt leadership. It has to be held to account & today's press conference was v worrying eg

This one though was the one that broke me. A care assistant on a zero hours contract using a coffee filter as a mask to protect the vulnerable patients in her care & herself
