Some comments on testing. Several doctors have argued that widespread testing is no longer necessary since community spread is well established. They believe widespread testing would be a misallocation of resources. This is incorrect for several reasons. 1/6
First, the FAMILIES FIRST CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE ACT requires a positive COVID-19 test for some people to qualify:

Second, widespread testing will provide a more accurate picture of the current situation. This will likely motivate those that think we are "overreacting" to take action. Lets hope in two months we look back and decide we overreacted! 3/6
Note: I suggest testing anyone with symptoms, anyone with close contact to a COVID-19 patient, healthcare providers, first responders, staff at nursing homes and retirement communities and anyone that visits those communities. And expand from there. 100,000 tests per day! 4/6
Third, widespread testing will identify people with mild symptoms that need to self-isolate. Limited testing is allowing these people to wander around infecting others. 5/6
Fourth, widespread testing will let us know when the US epidemic is slowing. With limited testing we are blind. Test, test, test. 6/6
