Work-home hygiene separation for healthcare professionals 🩺🦠💊! Our top tops for #COVID19

This has been our routine for many years (to protect our DD with #CF) but we’ve ramped things up a bit now due to #COVID. Things we do because we once brought home multi drug resistant..
pseudomonas, which scared us all. We do everything possible to reduce risk of hospital germs at home. I may sound quite mad or sane, I have no idea. OCD even. But here we go!
If we have not showered at work, we come in, yell hi to the kids & run up for a shower🚿. Clean change of clothes (you can wear those to work next day). Hugs come after. It’s fine.
We have a sealed plastic box at the door in which we put our hospital shoes. We wear scrubs👚👕 & theatre shoes👟 & luckily leave them at work.
Our coats will be going into the car, not sure what we will do with them now, giant bag? Not sure. But they will not be in the house
Washing 🧺- our clothes are washed separately from a different laundry bin. Especially those we have worn at work.
Phones, pens, etc 🖊📱wiped down at the end of the day. Always cleaned if kids want to play on an app. Glasses 👓 also wiped and washed. We wear no additional accessories at work other than wedding ring.
I have now switched to a washable cloth bag and ditched my handbag for now. Reduced what I take to work to the minimum. That bag will go into a sealed plastic box at the front door. I avoid taking my bag into theatre.
Hand washing 🚰🚰🚰🚰
It’s the norm.
It doesn’t take too long and soon becomes routine. Good luck everyone! Do share your tips too. Stay well #Careona #KeepClean
I also wonder if healthcare workers should stop wearing scrubs in public at this time. Thoughts?
Bristolians will appreciate my bag choice #Bristol #Brizzle #GertLush
Thanks for feedback! It’s by no means a guaranteed way but it’s something that helps us know we’ve done everything we can to minimise the chances. Stay safe everyone
Another thing. I am not using cloth theatre hats. Disposable ones at this time
