I came into this election with only basic knowledge of Hinduism. Thanks to the bigotry and hatred invited by the Democrats & @BernieSanders campaign as they weaponized religion in their attacks against @TulsiGabbard, I delved into the history of South Asia to gain understanding.
In this journey, I found religion & politics at the root of all the hatred. Why South Asia? It's the seat of Hinduism. Where some 90% of Hindus live today. I wanted to understand why Christians & Muslims were attacking Tulsi & found this has been happening for thousands of years.
Yes, even today, in our modern educated society, religious bigotry & hatred is alive & well. It's actually been embraced by the Democrats & @BernieSanders campaign as a political weapon, but not just there, left governments around the world have taken this path towards Hinduism.
Islam & Christianity unfortunately have a goal. That goal is to not co-exist with other religions, but to prevail over them. These religions see it as their duty to convert all to the god of their belief. As this twitter user, who called me an idolator kindly educated me: 
How did our country become bigoted? There are 3 main types of people attacking Hinduism.
1. Those who do because their own religious faith drives them.
2. Those who do using religion as a political weapon.
3. Those who believe the 1st & 2nd's propaganda & lies

I can't do much for 1 & 2, but ask them to understand how wrong they are.
For number 3, instead of just believing religiously motivated, or politically motivated lies & propaganda, seek truth.

Pluralism means that they believe there are many paths to god. There are not many gods, there is only one, but we know god by different names. For this reason, Hinduism does not seek dominance over other religions. It is comfortable existing side by side with any religious faith.

Let us remember, we are all on this journey together. Just because some people choose a path of hatred and bigotry does not mean you need to follow. Just because some politicians choose to weaponize religion does not mean you need to accept this.
Above all else, regardless of your belief system in the world, seek peace. Learn to lead with love & leave hatred behind. I should clarify, I'm not Hindu, I'm merely a human being on a spiritual path. I am a seeker of truth.
