A thread on testing for Corvid immunity.

Reportedly about 50% of people who get infected show no symptoms at all.

That makes them dangerously unaware spreaders—(for how many days is still a research question.)

BUT THEN (14 days?) they become immune.

So...
...If they are immune and can prove it with a test, they can resume function in the world without threat of harm to others or themselves.

Ideally the test would show: 1) they had the virus; 2) they now are no longer infectious; 3) they now are immune to further infection.

...
...Information about who is becoming immune would be extremely useful.

It would reveal mechanisms of the pandemic in important detail.

It would indicate to what extent “herd immunity” is developing— and how it develops.

And...
...It would help restore a working society, because people who can prove they have become immune don’t have to remain sheltered away.

They can help people who are still vulnerable more intimately.

Caveats...
Maybe such an immunity test is impossible, or it’s possible but not foolproof enough.

Or it works, but there’s no way to reliably certify the result—so some people can fake that they’re immune.

Work through all that.

Comments welcome.
(The number of 50% of infected being asymptomatic I got from this report by Michael Lin at Stanford.)
(It’s late, I type “Corvid,” and crows peck my posts. Stone them.)
