WHAT ISLAMIC SCHOLARS SAY ABOUT CORONA VIRUS, IN THE LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS QUR’AN

It has become a household topic of discussion, wherever people sit & talk, this great calamity, that scares almost everyone today, #Covid_19.

Perhaps, fellow servants of Allaah, we should take our guidance on this issue from the book of Allaah, the Glorious Qur’an, to serve as a guide for the believer, which eventually will lead us to the right path.

Among the great guidance of the Qur’an is that, nothing of evil or good befalls someone except what Allaah Has decreed & willed. Allaah the Most High says:

Say: "Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Maula (Lord, Helper and Protector)."

And in Allah let the believers put their trust. (At-Tawbah, verse 51).

The second guidance for us Muslims from the Glorious Qur’an is: A believer knows that lifting every harm solely relies in the Hands of Allaah ALONE. Nobody removes a harm except Him.

He gives, He denies. He places (hardship) & He lifts it up. He withholds (his bounties) , He releases (it as He wishes). He strengthens, He weakens.

Everything is truly His. Everything we see & we don't, He created them.

Allah The Most High says:

"Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations. Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? Little is that you remember!"

(Surah An-Naml, verse 62).

The third guidance we should get as Muslims is, Tawakkul (reliance upon Allaah (SWT)). This means total submission of everything to Allaah, & sincerely turning to Him. In the light of this, Allaah the Most High says:

"And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things." (At-Talaq, verse 3).

The 4th guidance for us, fellow Muslims, is to make supplications (Du'a). Indeed Dua, or you servants of Allaah, is the key 🗝 to everything good, and it closes & terminates everything evil & unwanted. Dua, is the sword of every believer, with it you can end every calamity.

With Dua we can lift every calamity that has befallen us. Infact, calamity is an enemy of Du'a. Allah the Most High says:

"And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge).

I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright." (Baqarah, verse 186).

The 5th guidance for us, fellow Muslims, is that, as a matter of fact

this world is a battle ground for trials. It is a place of tribulations, from one type to another. Allah (SWT) says:

"Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving;"

(Surah Al-Mulk, verse 2).

It is pertinent to note, fellow Muslims that the joy of this world comes with some trials, its happiness, is accompanied with sadness, its health is attached to sickness, its wealth is always together with lack. It is therefore a very important lesson to us to understand that,

with the guidance of the Qur’an, the only healer, who removes all sickness & pains, who enriches is Allaah alone. It is worthy of note, the sayings of Prophet Ibraaheem (SA), in what Allah (SWT) stated, the saying of Ibraaheem:

"And when I am sick, it is He (Allah) who heals me"

We ask Allah The Most High, with His beautiful names & great attributes, to heal the sick ones among us & among all Muslims. Oh Allah, lift the pains of everyone in pain. Oh Allaah, relieve the agony of everyone in agony, & protect us, guard us from every calamity & punishment.
