1/ Marketing in a post Covid-19 environment will take ingenuity, adaptability and action. You will need to rethink everything. These are my practical suggestions.
2/ You NEED to de-link from tech monopolies who have your media peckers in their pockets. This means Amazon, Google, Facebook, etc. All service providers selling their solutions to mkting on those platforms should ONLY be paid on performance. Put Skin In the Game 4 them
3/ Work as much as you can with those that have skin-in-the-game. This means working even with competitors. PulseTV is selling hand sanitizer to competitors thru rev share right now as an example.
4/ Build and own your own media thru social media. This includes email and text subscribers. Follow @GuruAnaerobic and notice how his social media creates sales and how there is cross promotion with like minded people.
5/ I cannot say stronger that you must make decisions quicker and stop torturing processes. There is a rhythm to tinkering your way to success. Too fast and you cannot absorb positive changes. But MORE deadly is analysis paralysis.
6/ Understand what you can afford to lose (AKA left tail risk). Critical.
7/ The digital age created so much confusion and fraud. Who is real? Who will waste your time? Develop heuristics to separate chalk from cheese (UK version). Chicago version, tell the difference between shit and chocolate.
8/ Avoid IYI and avoid lawyers as much as possible. They are in the sales prevention business. They are leeches, parasites on par with academics. we have a good one who was an engineer turned lawyer...but rare.
9/ Understand reciprocity. The essence of relationships is balance. Digital world crushed relationships under the weight of technology *solutions*. Meet people, look them in the eyes. Build relationships because all will need it to combat a strategy that does NOT rely on giants
10/ Developing skills to work with your competition is also critical. In the early days of the Internet, there was a feeling of working together. Regain this attitude and you can survive the coming economic tsunami. Good luck friends.
