@LRarey @willchamberlain 1) I earned my Journalism/Public Relations degree from Northern AZ Univ in 1978 & spent half my career on the editorial side (newspapers, magazines, books) and half on what was once considered the other side of the Rubicon: PR in public, private & non-profit sectors.
@LRarey @willchamberlain 2) What passes for "news" today wouldn't have risen to the lowest form of PR hackery back in the day: Reporters have become "Press agents," more focussed on stroking the client & "story placement" than informing the public. "Blow job stories" have become the "nooze" norm.
