#Corona 1.Spent 2 days in a small town in rural India. Found time to experience & reflect on what the current situation means for people who live in rural India. 70% of India’s population live in rural/semi rural India
2. Lush fields separated by small villages, small towns ...
3. Small villages with small houses where 4 to 5 people may live in one room
4. People have heard and are being told about Corona but life goes on. They still bathe and fish and wash their clothes in the large ponds ..some cleaner than others
5. There may be ”running water” in some homes but it is not universal
5. Daily life entails enough crises and hardships . Corona can’t be much worse. Washing hands “frequently” and isolating oneself when you have a cough and cold ...are largely impractical.
6. When asked what they would do should one of them get infected, they said...we’ll do what we can...meanwhile we have to earn and eat and ....
7. So they have been going about their business. Ventilators and hospitals are not an option for them at the best of times. They have accepted that life is not fair. There is no panic, no fear ...they continue.
