If only those who have returned from #Corona affected countries be a bit more sensible and just self-quarantine themselves for sometime, other people doesn't have to fear and stop what they do or roam freely. Please do that for greater public good and safety.
Exactly what I was talking about irresponsibility and insensitivity by some people. You're putting other lives at serious risk.
On popular request, I am compiling things to do on a self-quarantine. Note that these are primarily based on my own experience and what I have heard from many. This doesn't have any medical validation. Use at your own risk. But I am hoping that it will help many.
Here follows:
1) First and foremost - Stay away from children, elderly people, pregnant woman, other sickness, those with immunity issues. There are reportedly more vulnerable to #COVID19 #coronavirus .
If it is even possible, send them to a different house before you reach the house. 1/n
2) Stay in a well-ventilated & reasonably wide room with attached toilet/bathroom. Remember u're going to spend your next 14+ days in this room. Restrict your movement primarily to this room. Needless to say, but don't go outside your house. Avoid even balconies & corridors 2/n
3) Only 1 assigned family member shud be tasked with taking care of u. U may be not sick yet or may not at all, but it is important to have both physical & emotional support from someone you love. I know you're putting that person at risk, but if u can manage otherwise, good. 3/n
4) Like @TellDM said, Self - quarantine isn’t the same as being jailed. You can still communicate & be in touch with family & friends. There is NO REASON TO FEAR. You're doing this for the safety of yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the community around you. 4/n
5) I have already told you - NOT to leave you house/apartment. Don't venture out - outside of your flat inside your apartment. You're risking lives of your neighbours. Don't go to work. Work from Home (remotely) if possible. Don't attend any social or religious gatherings. 5/n
6) Wash hands as often, thoroughly with soap and water. or with alcohol based sanitizers. Clean you hands before touching your nose, eyes and mouth. Have good personal hygiene. Possibly take bath twice a day. Avoid putting ON the A/c in the room. 6/n
7) it is very important for your care giver/spouse to protect himself/herself in all possible ways. Try to keep a distance of least 1 m between you. That person should sanitize their hands after helping you in any way. Use different rooms to sleep. 7/n
8) Visitors and guests should not be allowed inside the house. Be transparent. Inform your friends and neighborhood about the reason. They will understand. Tell them you are doing this only as a precaution and safety. 8/n
9) Stock up essentials, medicines and food for at-least 2-3 weeks. Buy them online from @bigbasket_com , Amazon pantry etc. Prepay them online with your card. It is to avoid handing over by cash or card when they are delivered. Ask them to drop things in front or door step. 9/n
Remember this is better than going yourself to a shop or supermarket and buying them. If you have to handover cash or card - let your care giver do that instead of you. Ensure you have not touched the items.Same applies for ordering food online from @swiggy_in @ZomatoIN etc. 10/n
10) Clean/wash clothes, lines, other items used by you separately from those from people in the household. 11/n
11) Using surgical masks are recommended, but not so practical as much to use all day 24/7. But if you're showing any symptoms or illness, please use them compulsorily. 12/n
12) Important to keep yourself engaged and busy. Work from Home if you can, watch TV, Neflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, read books, listen to music, sleep thoroughly. Do you like stock markets? that is enough to keep you busy these days :) 13/n
13) Keep your spirits high. Talk to friends & family members over phone or video chat. You need this emotional help in this isolation. If not corona, just anxiety can give you more harm. In my case, I am diabetic & have blood pressure. Important to keep your 'shit together'. 14/n
14) Keep yourself hydrated. Drink lots of water throughout the day.
Gargle your throat frequently with hot saline water. 15/n
