County Executive @SNeuhausOC of @OCGovNY thinks that Kiryas Joel was an early Covid19 problem but he ignores the fact that residents followed early advice from officials to test. Due to the early testing, KJ cases appeared early. Not testing, does not mean there are no cases.
In his #COVIDー19 update on Sunday March 22, @SNeuhausOC spoke about KJ almost at the top of his message. KJ has 25,000 people in a county of 375,000 people. It is antagonistic to pick on a small village (based on flawed math no less). This is the relavant portion.
Basically, @SNeuhausOC suggests that KJ has an infection rate of 60% based on a doctor who said that 60% of his tests are positive. Days earlier, Neuhaus suggested that KJ’s rate is 90%. It is not prudent to set county policy based on claims that fluctuate so wide within days.
In addition, if a doctor in KJ tested at random 250 people, then perhaps one can suggest that the results reflect the overall population of 25,000. However, tests in KJ were done primarily on those with symptoms so of course a large number of tests will come back as positive.
It is absurd to use a small sample size of likely positive patients as proof of how the overall population is doing. Instead of preparing Orange County for an outbreak that is fast-spreading globally, the @OCGovNY executive wasted precious time antagonizing against Kiryas Joel.
VIDEO! @JohnstonsToyota in New Hampton, Orange County, NY was in operation today for the public but a staffer turned away a Hasidic Jew allegedly because of the virus. This illegal bigotry is on @SNeuhausOC of @OCGovNY and on all reporters who fueled a lie about neighboring KJ.
The person at @JohnstonsToyota did not tell the Hasidic person to wait outside until it is his turn or that it is closed to the public. The staffer turned away the Hasidic person outright by pinning it on the virus while serving other clients.

UPDATE! In an effort to legitimize the bigotry of their staff, @JohnstonsToyota posted an announcement today afternoon that they are reducing services due to Coronavirus. However, this was posted 6 hours ago, which is many hours after the incident. 
Secondly, the staffers did not mention anything about specific services being open or shut. It was a blanket refusal of service while everyone else was served. The cheap Facebook post shows that the bigoted culture at the shop reeks from the top. Owners should have apologized.
UPDATE II! When a comment asked @JohnstonsToyota why they refused service for a Hasidic resident of Kiryas Joel, their Facebook page posted the story that the chief rabbi of KJ has Coronavirus and that “it would be best for all of us” if the Rabbi asked everyone to stay home.
