I welcome the indication that the FM @nsitharaman will announce relief measures in the Lok Sabha today.

The relief measures should include:

1. Doubling PM-KISAN subsidy and bringing Tenant farmers within the scheme

2. Deferring tax payment dates
3. Cutting indirect taxes, especially some GST rates.

4. Monthly cash transfers to the poor families.

5. Giving 10 kg of rice/wheat absolutely FREE to
every family that wishes to take the food grains.
6. Guarantees and fiscal incentives to employers who will maintain current levels of employment and wages.

Listened carefully to Prime Minister’s address. Left me with a mix of emotions — relief, vindication, frustration, disappointment, worry, fear etc.
The lockdown is late, but better late than never. Those who mocked the idea of a lockdown will do the country a great favour by remaining silent for 21 days.
PM’s announcement left a gaping hole. Who is going to provide cash to the poor that they need for the next 21 days?

लगभग एक हफ्ते से, मैंनें 2-4 सप्ताह के लिए पूरे देश में तालाबंदी की अपील की है। मेरी दलीलों को चुप्पी का साथ मिला, और कुछ मामलों में, अपमानजनक ट्रोल द्वारा।
मैं आभारी हूं कि कई मुख्यमंत्रियों ने आखिरकार तालाबंदी की अनिवार्यता को समझ लिया है। उन्हें आगे बढ़ना चाहिए और अपने राज्यों में सभी शहरों को बंद करना चाहिए और लगभग सभी सार्वजनिक और निजी परिवहन को रोक देना चाहिए।
डॉ. देवी शेट्टी की सलाह (TOI) पर ध्यान दें। अब तालाबंदी की घोषणा करें। एक महीने के बाद ऐसा करने के गंभीर और असहनीय परिणाम होंगे।

Listened to FM’s address to the media. It is obvious that the crisis has been in the making since 2017 and the government did practically nothing except “talk to the RBI”.
As expected, the FM has indirectly blamed the UPA for the near collapse of YES Bank contrary to her own claim that the crisis started in 2017.
Did you notice that the FM did not acknowledge the numbers of the loan book of YES Bank? Did you notice that FM did not explain how the loan book miraculously jumped from Rs 55,633 crore in March 2014 to Rs 2,41,999 crore in March 2019?

2. Pradhan Mantri #Kisan Pension Yojana: To address the problems of farm sector distress, the Modi 2.0 Cabinet has approved a proposal to provide small and marginal #farmers with a minimum Rs 3,000 per #month fixed #pension, costing Rs 10,774.5 crore per annum to the exchequer.

1. The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 violates Articles 14, 15, 21, 26 and 29.
2. The Bill says that the marriage would be legal even if a man gives triple talaq (talaq-e-biddat) to his wife, and would get three years in jail.
