Why the dramatic change in No10 strategy? I’m told SAGE data found advisory social distancing was failing dramatically. Well below 75% of UK population was observing it - the figure needed for it to bring down contagion, eg use of parks was up 200% alone last weekend.

Jeremy Corbyn’s three advisers, including Seumas Milne, have just been evicted from the Commons press gallery for taking photos of him at his last #PMQs as Labour leader.
They were observed by the Serjeant at Arms, who issued instructions to the ushers. Photos from press and public galleries are a strict no no.
A few minutes earlier, the advisers had also been warned by ushers to stop sitting next to each other and observe social distancing.

Breaking: Sajid Javid has apparently resigned.
I'm told the PM insisted all his special advisers resign, and in those circumstances Javid refused to stay on as Chancellor.
And all this, 28 days before the Chancellor must deliver a Budget. Safe to say, Boris Johnson's honeymoon is over.

Remember CRAG? It's a fresh headache for the Govt's bid to pass the Brexit deal by October 31. The Constitutional Reform and Governance Act (2010) requires any treaty be laid before the House for 21 days before it can be ratified. The Brexit deal is such as treaty 1.
The Govt accept this, so I learn there is a clause in the WAB that specifically dis-applies it from the Brexit deal. So 21 days will be shrunk to less than 1 day. The bill will be published tonight, and ratification will begin with 2nd reading tomorrow afternoon 2.
The Commons are unlikely to block the bill on this point, but I'm told the Govt is a little more worried about how the Lords will take it, who are "bound to kick up rough" about it, according to one Tory peer, being sticklers for these kind of things 3.

Government has just told BBC that Coronavirus/COVID19 is to be formally registered as a "notifiable disease", after our enquiry about concerned English businesses unable to claim losses related to outbreak on insurance policies...
BBC learnt yesterday business groups expressed concerns directly to UK Govt at meeting with Defra, as Scottish Government had already made Coronavirus notifiable last month. The @Foodanddrinkfed described the lack of notification as "ludicrous". Wasn't in yesterdays action plan.
We also spoke to a range of small businesses who had been told by insurers that the policy doesn't kick in until a Government puts a disease on the notifiable list, alongside SARS, measles, plague etc. Also now compulsory under 1984 act for doctors to notify even suspected cases.

We reveal the rather recent changes to the secret “reasonable worst case scenario” assumptions for No Deal Brexit trade flow that are the foundation for the Government’s No Deal planning.
...last year Government’s reasonable worst case scenario (revealed to industry under NDA but not public) for trade flows across Channel was incredible fall of 75% to 87% - so only 2 in 10 lorries flowing.

That was improved to 50-70% in April
& 40-60% in past few days BBC told

...reason is really rather interesting - original catastrophic assumption done without French cooperation - on basis of 100% manual customs & regulatory checks (& required officials studying satellite photos of French ports)...upgrade has come as a result of new French facilities
