There is a detectable stigma on this platform against discussing at this stage how/when/under what circumstances normalcy returns. That's a bad sign--the mark of a panic--and that stigma is absent in broader-audience media. Calibrate yourself accordingly. theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…
For those of us comfortable enough to weather this thing from behind a desk, no measure is too draconian. But life outside my window in a working-class neighborhood in the NYC suburbs has not stopped because, for my neighbors, it *cannot* stop. It's a perspective lacking here.
For all the talk of privilege here, it is as abundant as caution from those for whom stopping all social and economic activity indefinitely is imperative. It's the indefinitely part that will lead it to break down. A timeline, even an extendable one, is psychological bridge
