Thinking about all the accounts on here that might just... stop tweeting.
We are living in an era of history when a virus can travel farther and faster than was ever possible before, and also where it's possible for one person to watch and be watched daily by thousands of people from all over the globe as they joke and share their life and thoughts.
If I had gotten sick and died as a child in the 80s, hardly anyone would know I had lived, much less that I stopped.

I'm almost 40 years old and have 40,000 people following me.
I have spent about half my life doing theoretically unprofitable stuff online for money. Inventing new careers for myself. It's been a long, strange hustle.
It's had its ups and downs, as lives go. There are things I would change about it if I could, but mainly the things that were beyond my control to begin with.

If the day comes where I stop tweeting, please don't say that I died.

Tell people I lived.
I beat George R.R. Martin out for a a writing award that he invented. I once spent an hour tweeting at length about how I don't like dogs and gained ~300 followers. I have given the bulk of my work away for free and people give me money for it. Objectively my life makes no sense.
I'm not sick (for once) and I don't expect to get sick, despite the potential exposure. But I also can't help thinking that if I do get sick, how quickly it might progress, given my body's overall condition.
I've been talking about doing the end-of-life stuff... writing out what needs to be written, recording a few things... for a while. Been thinking about it since my mother died.

I think I'm going to have to actually do that tomorrow.
