There has been much to criticise in the handling of this crisis at the top of the justice system, but there are also a lot of brilliant people who have gone beyond the call to try and safely keep the show on the road, and to help us navigate these uncertain times. So thank you.
I don't offer an exhaustive list, but the Circuit Leaders, Criminal Bar Association and Bar Council who have offered leadership & direction when none was coming from above deserve particular mention, as do the legal & court staff putting themselves at risk to cover urgent cases.
Times like these offer a welcome reminder that for all its flaws, and to paraphrase a famous philosopher, there's some good in this justice system, Mr Frodo. And it's worth fighting for.
