In this crisis, we in media ask questions not to corner govts, but to draw their attention

The calamity of such scale can only be addressed by Union & State govts. Not by any other political/ social/cultural organisation

So some questions follow from FM’s good announcements 1/n

The money will go in people’s bank accounts, but how will they withdraw it?

Village level Business correspondents system has almost collapsed due to lockout.

Is an alternative system being planned?

Will the biometric verification system of PDS be set aside for the time being, as virus can spread by touch?

There are migrant & homeless people in cities who don’t cook.

The rehdi-patri system of buying food is locked down. How do they get cooked food? Other than rations, is a system of cooked food packets being discussed with state govts?
We are talking of over 4 crore people!

Will there be a timetable for food distribution so that people don’t violate lockdown and crowd the PDS shops for collection? Is an SoP being worked out?

Is there is a limit on increased collateral free loans for women SHGs in bank branches? Or all the requests will be entertained?

Can this increased collateral free loan be used to meet personal needs of the women SHG members in this crisis period? 6/n

Will banks require a project report or feasibility report etc. for sanctioning increased loan for SHGs? Will the delayed-repayment on past loans be an adverse condition for disbursement of such loans?

Is MNREGA budget being increased by finance ministry to meet the demand and increased wages?

Is the health insurance for medical workers only a death insurance or it also covers illness costs?

And can the union government release the breakup of the allocation of ₹1.7 lakh crore announced today?
