                       COVID-19: SUSPECTED CHINESE PATIENT TESTS NEGATIVE

The Chinese man who arrived Lagos yesterday aboard an Ethiopian Airline and suspected for COVID-19 has tested negative for the disease, Commissioner for Health, @ProfAkinAbayomi has said
@ProfAkinAbayomi who disclosed this today while giving an update on the management and control of COVID-19 outbreak in Lagos State said the patient who arrived yesterday aboard an Ethiopian Airline was taken into isolation after exhibiting symptoms of #COVIDー19.
According to him, samples were collected from the patient and the test which turned out negative was carried out the Lagos State Bio-security Level 3 laboratory located within the premises of the Mainland Hospital.

FIRST CASE OF #COVID2019 CONFIRMED IN LAGOS

@followlasg through @LSMOH has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Lagos and reported it to @Fmohnigeria.
The case, which was confirmed on the 27th of February 2020, is the first case to be reported in Nigeria since the outbreak in China in January 2020.
The case is an Italian citizen who entered Nigeria on the 25th of February from Milan, Italy for a brief business visit. He fell ill on the 26th February and was transfered to Lagos State Biosecurity Facilities for isolation and testing.

Group of Ministers (GoM) reviewed status of cases in India, steps taken by the Government of India so far and have taken the following decisions.
At the meeting of Group of Ministers (GoM) today it has been decided that:
(a) No scheduled international commercial passenger aircraft shall take off from any foreign airport for any airport in India, after 0001 hrs GMT of March 22, 2020 (*i.e. 0531 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) of March 22, 2020)....

In continuation of Travel Advisories issued on 11th and 16th March 2020, following additional advisory issued today.
(a) Travel of passengers from #Afghanistan, #Philippines and #Malaysia to #India is prohibited with immediate effect. No flight shall take off from these countries to India after 1500 hours IST. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
