(THREAD) From a Friend, one of my dancers:

After more than a week of waiting, last night I was told I tested positive for COVID-19. To say that the last week and a half or so has been a challenge would be an extreme understatement. Here is a brief synopsis of my story.
On the 12th, I went to the doctor with a headache and mid grade fever. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and put on a Zpack. As I was about to complete my prescription, I began feeling worse. My fever spiked to 103 and I could barely sit up. I tested negative for the flu
and was then tested for Corona Virus. Over the past week, I have gotten to points of feeling like I simply couldn’t do it. Despite incredible help from my friends and family at a distance, I was incapable of taking care of myself
any longer and was forced to be taken to the hospital.I was given fluids and medication to quell the insane nausea. Since then I have progressed very slightly each day. I am hoping I am on the other side of this and honestly never saw myself even bookmarking this in my life
in any way yet at the encouragement of friends who say that me sharing my story could offer perspective for some, I will. I know it is easy to look at this crisis as something that will not directly affect us. Say what you will or pose any theories you like about the current
state but- this is a very real thing, that needs to be handled properly. Please stay home. Don’t gather with even small groups of friends. We don’t know yet who is effected as they could not be symptomatic just yet.
This is serious- and we will get through it by respecting each other. I say this as I know how devastating the virus is, even though thankfully not as devastating as it can be.

BE SMART. BE SAFE. BE CONSCIENTIOUS.
