1/3 Regarding masks:
@WHO @CDCgov & my office have consistently recommended against the general public wearing masks as there is scant or conflicting evidence they benefit individual wearers in a meaningful way, but real concerns about pulling from the healthcare worker supply...
2/3 If you have #coronavirus or are caring for someone with #COVID19, both @CDCgov and @WHO advise you to wear a mask around others, so YOU don’t spread disease to THEM. There may be other recommendations for wearing masks at the discretion of your health provider or employer.
3/3 My office, @CDCgov & @WHO constantly review emerging data & studies regarding #COVID19, and will adjust recommendations according to new data as the evidence warrants. CDC does not have new guidance scheduled to come out on this topic at this time. 👇🏽

1/n A note on testing- not all labs are reporting yet (or promptly), but the ones that do, report that 90% of tests (which are usually people exposed or w/ symptoms) are #COVID19 negative. That means even among the highest risk people, most don’t have #coronavirus...
2/n Experts say that also means you can estimate total daily tests run in U.S. by multiplying daily new cases reported by 10 since 10% of tests reported are positive (it is likely all positive tests are being reported, even if all negatives are not)...
3/n On Monday ~ 1000 new cases were reported, likely reflecting ~10,000 tests run. Friday over 5000 new cases were reported, reflecting at least 50,000 tests run daily. With the strength of the commercial sector coming online, testing capacity increased 10 fold in 5 days...

Thread: 1/3 You’re likely hearing about the need to #flattenthecurve. It simply means spreading out the number of #coronavirus cases over a longer timeframe, so our healthcare and response systems don’t get overwhelmed...
2/3 We #flattenthecurve with NPIs- non pharmaceutical interventions (ie things other than medications or vaccines).

NPIs include: handwashing/ personal hygiene, targeted quarantines, school/ business/ closures, telework, limiting social gatherings, and cleaning surfaces
3/3 Life will be VERY different over the next few weeks. But if we all do our part we can spread our cases out, lessen impact to healthcare systems and communities, and get through this.

The big mistake in US and Europe is that people aren’t wearing masks. This virus is transmitted by droplets and close contact. When you speak, there are always droplets coming out of your mouth, so you've got to wear a mask. @sciencecohen @ScienceMagazine

Prior to grooming the kids, they must groom the adults into dismissing what their eyes can see, what their intuition is trying to tell them. Once the parents are groomed. they will even smile as their kids are too. Doubt that, look at the hands of the man on the right. Accident?
Maybe the man on the right didn't intend to place his hands where he did. If you ask him, he'll say you're phobic or paranoid. OK, how about how the man in the middle positioned the child? Look carefully. Couldn't be that he actually placed her there on purpose. Why such a grin?
