We've learned that if it isn't someone's job to care about some X for a rather minor X, like say onboarding flow for a web application, that the level of organizational understanding of X will be very bad and decisions will often tend to be suboptimal.
The magic word for this in tech is DRI: directly responsible individual.

You would think, for very, very important Xes, the relevance of which to the organization is obvious, that organizations would naturally have a DRI for X.
You know that line in Mario? "Sorry Mario, your princess is in another castle."

Sometimes every castle thinks the princess is in another castle.
