THREAD on constitutional analysis:

American attorneys have been litigating the inherent tension between fundamental individual rights & limited government powers since 1803. Our constitutional convention in 1787 was focused on this tension, & world history’s failed attempts. 1/
So far, we’ve done a good job as a Nation protecting rights that are fundamental but not absolute, and providing government power that is limited, not totalitarian. 2/
This pandemic will present new facts for litigation, but the principles of law and our Constitution will continue being applied. Our Founders provided a system of government that can and will resolve this tension in the interests of ordered liberty. 3/
Our judicial system is the best in the world and because of @realDonaldTrump, we have more than 200 originalist judges and 2 Supreme Court justices appointed by the Trump Administration. 4/
We MUST re-elect President @realDonaldTrump to continue to appoint originalist judges so that our individual rights will be protected now and for future generations of Americans. Otherwise, we risk globalism and totalitarianism and everything fundamentally anti-American. 5/
Thankfully, our Founders, our forefathers, and President Trump protected our rule of law for us for this moment and for our future. 6/
President @realDonaldTrump has exemplified exactly what our Founders intended for the federal Executive in a national crisis — the balance of powers between federal leadership and support for state and local decision-makers to respond to their specific communities. 7/
We’ll get through this together under President @realDonaldTrump’s extraordinary leadership. Liberty AND the proper role of government will prevail.
