This is chilling. A nurse on the front lines in Chicago tried to wear her own N95 to work while caring for COVID pts (when it wasn’t supplied for her) & she was told by management she would not be allowed to. She quit her job.

Although I utilize a plant based diet to help my patients, I recognize & respect there are many dietary patterns that help patients. Normally I recommend a low fat plant based diet, but about 10 months ago I started to utilize plant based diets of all macronutrient profiles.

To be noted: I know nutrition can be wildly controversial. Plant based nutrition happens to be the dietary intervention that has worked in my practice, and I do recognize there are many different ways to be healthful and help our patients. This happens to be one of them 🙂

I did my own n=1 two week vegan keto experiment! And here’s what I learned! (A tweetorial)

**before people on either side of the diet wars get aggro on this thread: please take note and be kind: I am a 32 year old doctor, who did this self experiment for 2 weeks to learn more.
I am a physician with an open mind. I am not recommending any dietary changes for anyone based on my n=1 experiment, but I sure have developed multiple research questions from this experience!

So... here goes!
Fiber: in 14 days I ate 1288g fiber, averaging 92 g per day! I ranged anywhere from 85-105 grams of fiber per day. I realized that my fiber intake didn’t change much from my baseline, because fruit (which I had to cut back on for the 2 weeks) actually doesn’t have too much fiber

1- I am getting sick of all these people that go like:
#COVIDー19 is a #hoax because I drove to a hospital and the parking lot/front entrance was empty.

Well genius, they are empty because everybody with minor surgery and non-life threatening conditions has been turned away in
2-In preparation of a crisis. That is way hallways are mostly empty. Visitors no longer can wait in halls.
3-Also, there is the fact that since ppl are at home, there are less car accidents and such that require hospitalizations.
4-People are not going to hospitals unless a real
5-Emergency is threatening their lives.
6-You have something called #Hippa Laws that prevent footage being shown from hospitals. Fortunately for you, same thing doesn't apply to Italy, Turkey, Spain, and others. So if you get a kick out of watching other suffers, get off American

This has been our routine for many years (to protect our DD with #CF) but we’ve ramped things up a bit now due to #COVID. Things we do because we once brought home multi drug resistant..
pseudomonas, which scared us all. We do everything possible to reduce risk of hospital germs at home. I may sound quite mad or sane, I have no idea. OCD even. But here we go!
If we have not showered at work, we come in, yell hi to the kids & run up for a shower🚿. Clean change of clothes (you can wear those to work next day). Hugs come after. It’s fine.

My personal experience 2 days ago in downtown #Chicago @TrumpChicago in support of our 🇺🇸Country's 🇺🇸 #BestPresidentEver on Monday, 10/28/19. Hope it inspires more to be heard & it's okay to publicly advocate for an incredible man who has sacrificed so much for all of America!
I personally felt compelled to attend to show support for our President @realDonaldTrump
Here's why. I heard that they were going to be promoting socialism in the protest & incorporate the Teacher's strike people who brought children & even infants to boost #'s.
