I honestly don't think there will be a solution on the short term. The solution is a strong society made up of individuals who do not root their solidarity in race, religion, caste, or sect. This cannot be built in a few months or even years.
The Hindutva experiment will have to run its course, and it will destroy many lives in its wake. But maybe in the process India will be forced to face its demons, develop a new native identity, and get that strong social solidarity it needs and deserves.
When fascist mobs march in the streets, they aren't the disease itself. They are the visible symptoms of a disease that has been allowed to fester for years, sometimes decades.
