⚠️@FEMA & @CDCgov’s draft strategy to reopen says even a cautious/phased approach entails a “significant risk of resurgence” of #coronavirus & warns of a “large rebound curve” of #COVID19 if mitigation is relaxed before vaccines or herd immunity occur.

Before easing #StayHome, we need the following:

▶️“genuinely low” #COVID19 cases
▶️broad #coronavirus TESTING: “well functioning” monitoring “promptly detecting” outbreaks
▶️aggressive contact tracing
▶️enough hospital beds to rapidly scale up
▶️ramped-up production of #PPE

Reopening too early RISKS LIVES, but @realDonaldTrump claims “the plans to reopen the country are close to being finalized.”

Yet Trump hasn’t committed to following these or other recommendations from the experts, as the WH drafts its own plans.🤬

One idea is that people who recovered from #coronavirus & have antibodies could get a certificate of immunity & be cleared to work.

But “No one knows whether a recovered #COVID19 patient is actually immune...or if they are immune, how complete or long-lasting that might be....

“...there are preliminary reports out of #SouthKorea and #China...Some survivors test positive after they’ve been officially cured. They also have widely varying amounts of antibodies — abundant in some survivors, undetectable in others.”😳

It’s a NEW virus, so lots of unknowns.

Critical to this plan would be widespread serology testing, which detects #antibodies to #coronavirus in the blood.

Yet @realDonaldTrump says we don’t need to ramp up testing, and the number of #COVID19 tests analyzed daily by labs *plummeted more than 30%* over the last week.🤬

Bottom line: if we want to reopen our country, we need:

▶️#FlattenTheCurve of #COVID19 cases
▶️Widespread #coronavirus testing
▶️Aggressive contact tracing
▶️More field hospitals with ICU beds and #ventilators
▶️MASSIVE production of #PPE
