Final #coronavirus numbers for Sept 9th. The world added 247,097 new #COVID19 infections yesterday while another 4,483 lives were lost to the virus. Total to date global #COVID deaths now exceed 900,000 and could pass 1,000,000 by month’s end.
Yesterday after a brief Monday lull #India resumed its torrid infection pace adding 89,852 new #COVID19 infections while losing another 1,107 lives to the #coronavirus. Worth noting these numbers are likely understated.

#Canada usually sees a big jump in new #COVID19 infections on Mondays but this week it arrived on Tuesday. Yesterday Canada added 1,606 new #coronavirus cases, a significant spike. I assume it has to do with the long weekend there.

Both the #Netherlands and #Denmark are also experiencing rapidly rising #COVID19 infection numbers with #Danmark’s Health minister calling the situation there “worrying” noting #Danmark is in a more concerning position now than in the spring prior to the lockdown
Elsewhere in the world #Israel again yesterday set a new high for the most daily #COVID19 infections of any day yet. As did #Argentina in #SouthAmerica. In #Turkey numbers are steadily building in what looks suspiciously like the beginning of a new wave.
On the good news side #Australia seems to have hammered down its latest #COVID19 outbreak, which put #Melbourne into another lockdown. In #SouthKorea they too appear to be stamping out a big spike in new #coronavirus cases.
