🚨BREAKING: Trump didn’t disclose a POSITIVE rapid #COVID19 test result he received *on Thursday* before appearing on Fox News when he didn’t reveal it either, instead claiming he was awaiting results.

Trump tried to #coverup having tested positive.🤬

Trump's 1st positive was a "rapid antigen" #coronavirus test (quick, not as sensitive as PCR). His 2nd, confirmatory test used PCR–amplifies genetic material from the virus (more sensitive, not as quick).

Trump KNEW of his 1st positive, but said NOTHING.
😱As the #coronavirus spread among the people closest to him, Trump asked an adviser NOT to disclose results of their own positive test. “Don’t tell anyone,” he said.

This is RECKLESS and DANGEROUS. Contact tracing #COVID19 cases is crucial to containing a #CoronavirusOutbreak.
The #coverup extended internally. Trump & his top advisers aimed to hide Hope Hicks' positive #COVID19 results from his campaign manager, Bill Stepien.

These are people who interact frequently with one another AND with others externally = high risk of broad viral spread.
200,000+ dead Americans. It's no surprise that Trump *totally failed to contain the #coronavirus outbreak within his own house*.

The failure to #WearAMask , failure to socially distance, failure to contact trace quickly and aggressively.

TOTAL FAIL.🤬

As I warned, Trump’s condition was much more serious than revealed. His condition was deteriorating faster and earlier in the course of illness than is typical in #COVID19. Thus, the unproven antibody cocktail, #remdesivir (used for seriously ill patients), and now dexamethasone.
Patients with @COVID19 are hospitalized a median of 9days after onset of symptoms. Trump’s became symptomatic on Wednesday at the earliest, so today is Day 5. Yet Trump needed oxygen and hospitalization by Day 2.

It’s VERY CONCERNING that Trump was treated with dexamethasone. As @DrEricDing points out, dex is NOT effective in patients NOT on O2. Biggest benefit is for patients on O2/ventilator, less so for O2 only.

⚠️If Hope Hicks traveled within close proximity to Trump aboard Air Force One—presumably while NOT wearing a mask—then Trump likely was exposed to the #coronavirus.

However, that does not necessarily mean it’s likely that Trump will be infected and/or get sick. 1/

A large study in #India of over 500,000 people showed that **only 8%** of #coronavirus-infected people accounted for 60% of all new infections.

These are “superspreaders.” 🦠
In this same study, the chances that a #coronavirus-infected person spread the virus to a household contact (CLOSE contact) was only 9%.
