#COVID19 briefing is LIVE now

✅Active cases less than 2.5 lakhs after 6 months and declining

✅Daily number of deaths less than 300 for 11 consecutive days

✅Cumulative positivity rate 5.87%

✅Positivity rate during last week 1.97%

Daily positivity rate of #COVID19 is continuously declining and has been less than 3 percent from Dec 23, 2020 to Jan 5, 2021

Average recovered cases exceeded average daily new cases (for last 5 weeks), because of which active cases are continuously declining, now below 2.5 lakh

Only 43.96% of the total active cases of #COVID19 are under treatment in health-care facilities, that is, they need regular medical care. On the other hand, 56.04% of the active cases are very mild or asymptomatic and are in home isolation: Secretary, @MoHFW_INDIA

This indicates that the overall burden on the healthcare/health-delivery structure of the country on account of #COVID19 has declined appreciably: Secretary, @MoHFW_INDIA

During UIPs, manufacturers first transport the #vaccines to the 4 Primary Vaccine Stores (at Karnal, Mumbai, Kolkata & Chennai) across the country, from where it is transported in bulk to the 37 state #vaccine stores and then to the districts and finally to PHCs: Health Secretary

There are temperature trackers inside all Primary Vaccine Stores(GMSD), State Vaccine Stores & District Vaccine Stores and info is uploaded on a real-time basis about temperature inside the facility on to a central server: Health Secretary

#COWIN electronically allots session for #vaccination. District Magistrates can allocate dates for vaccination in various sites and also decide upon the no. of people to be vaccinated in a session. Session allocation will be done digitally: @MoHFW_INDIA

When #vaccination is done, the process will be digitally captured and the beneficiary will be digitally informed about the next vaccination session

There is also a system for reporting Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) in real time in #COWIN system: @MoHFW_INDIA

#COWIN Vaccination Management System, which is made in India for the world, is a public health good. Govt. of India will pro-actively help the countries who may want to use it: Secretary, @MoHFW_INDIA

No major issues observed in operational aspects during field testing of #COVID19 #vaccine roll out strategy. All states have expressed confidence in the operational guidelines for large scale implementation: Secretary, @MoHFW_INDIA

In #India Phase 2/3 of #COVISHEILD #vaccine, conducted on 1600 participants aged>=18, it has been found to be safe and immunogenic and the data showed it to be non-inferior to the UK product: DG, @ICMRDELHI
