A sobering tweet from British born reporter Benjamin Hall.
He was working with Fox when ambushed by Russian troops just outside of #Kyiv
Update: He's now deleted this original tweet
In the north of #Ukraine the BBC has uncovered more war crimes.
In #Yahidne, near #Chernihiv, dozens of citizens were held hostage by Russian troops in a single basement for a month. Human shields and forced to sleep among bodies as time wore on
Overnight "Blood crosses" appeared in #Novosibirsk in the east of the country.
In the academic region of the city the crosses bear the names of #Ukraine places which have seen Russian war crimes. I guess they're no longer there!
#Kramatorsk
These photos were taken yesterday (credit AFP)
They are from the railway station in the city after #Ukraine's govt advised everyone to leave with fierce fighting likely soon throughout the #Donbas region.
Today's attack WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT
😢😞
March 8th, Women's Day, is a huge thing in #Ukraine
The missile in #Kramatorsk landed on a temporary waiting area by the station.
This backs up German intelligence yesterday where Moscow told its troops to kill civilians.
Please, no-one use the term "indiscriminate" firing or bombing. It is 100% TARGETED at civilians.
There are more truly awful videos from the terrorist attack in #Kramatorsk. I cannot publish. Bodies, faces, kids. You can find them if you need to. Nothing is to be gained
Earlier #Ukraine published its list of Russian losses.
700 tanks destroyed and the number of invading troops killed is now thought to be 19,000.
Putin reported already said he doesn't care about "30,000 or 50,000" soldiers being killed, but are the equipment losses sustainable?
When Bosnian Serbs were being massacred, to establish peace, NATO intervened
There was a UN mandate for a No Fly Zone. There would clearly be a vote in favour of a No Fly Zone in Ukraine, but Russia would veto it.
How can we sit by and watch a new Srebenica, a new Nazi genocide?
VIP visitors starting to return to #Kyiv to show support for #Ukraine.
Today it's @vonderleyen. I've been told Kyiv is preparing for another high profile leader, possibly this weekend/Monday.
Mayor Aleksander Honcharenko:
"A lot of people have lost arms, legs. There are 30-40 surgeons operating at the same time right now”
He adds 4,000 people were in the station at the time of the attack. #SaveUkraine
#Turkey has announced that the Defence Ministers of #UK, #Italy and Turkey are meeting later in #Istanbul.
Russia has a new world champion - in looting.. Theft.
Ladies and gentlemen meet Yevgeniy Kovalenko. This coward in the Russian army has been traced as sending 17 parcels back home to his wife. Total weight 440kg.
All looted from #Ukraine
Make him famous!
This is thought the be the guy who was either too scared to tell Putin the truth about Ukraine's likely reaction to a Russian invasion, or was genuinely incredibly stupid.
I hesitate to put the word 'intelligence' in the same sentence!
Still no aid allowed in to #Mariupol according to the Head of Donetsk region, Pavel Kirilenko.
He also said Turkish efforts to help from the sea have been thwarted, while it's becoming more difficult to leave by private vehicle, and many are forced to go to occupied territory.
Russia Today's Twitter account has seemingly been blocked in the EU "due to a legal demand"
However, it's not blocked in the UK.
Meanwhile Russia's parliament is moving to make "adoption" of #Ukraine children, kidnapped from their homes, easier.
Russians fired a missile on the packed railway station earlier today. 38 were killed at the scene, another 12 have since died of their injuries in hospital
Sickening things in #Ukraine today, but just look at these accusations. #Ukraine's Ombudswoman Luidmila Denisova details allegations of:
14yo girl raped by 5 soldiers, now pregnant.
11yo boy raped in front of his mum
20yo woman raped by 3 Russians
Two officers of the #Belarus KGB have been blown up by a Russian mine.
Russians returning across the border, after being forced out of Ukraine, left live ammunition and mines around without informing their hosts. Two "friends" paid the ultimate price
After the increase in missile attacks on #Odessa, the local council has decided the city will have its first long curfew.
From 21:00 on Saturday until 06:00 Monday morning local time, residents of #Odesa must stay indoors.
As predicted there's already a big uptick in fighting in the #Donbas.
#Ukraine claims it's repelled numerous attacks and killed around 50 Russian soldiers there alone and destroyed 9 tanks plus 2 helicopters.
And I'll end the 44th day of this criminal war by giving another update on the toll from the main news of the day.
52 people (at least 5 children) murdered in the #Kramatorsk station bombing.
109 injured - this has increased with further people seeking treatment later in the day

#Russia's war on #Ukraine - this is the start of the daily thread.
Day 46 begins with both sides claiming they've inflicted significant losses on its opponent. That can only mean the war is hotting up significantly in the east.
Read on...
It's taken me quite a while this morning to log all the claims and counter claims.
#Ukraine says it destroyed a "large column of enemy equipment" heading towards #Izium in the #Kharkiv region.
No significant proof yet on either side; just one photo supposedly from #Izyum so far
1/2 Another nasty development yesterday evening was the reported use by #Russia of "parachute bombs" in #Kharkiv for the first time.
These are purely intended to kill civilians. Let me explain in the next tweet how/why:
It's Saturday. Day 45 of #Russia's apparent attempt to wipe #Ukraine and its people from the map.
There is no neutrality in such a conflict. If you pretend to be neutral you are condoning the targeting of civilians, the mass slaughter of women and kids.
Here's the daily🧵⬇️
There were far fewer air raid alarms across #Ukraine overnight.
Two people were injured in one Russian missile attack in #Poltava region.
"Infrastructure" was hit in Mirhorod according to authorities.
#Kharkiv had its usual bombardment last night - this is the usual "night music" there
Russian forces have what amounts to a partial blockade of #Ukraine's second city. More of the terrorist forces are gathering over the border with a renewed attempt to capture the city likely⬇️
We've reached 6 weeks of full scale war and arguably #Russia is in a worse position than after Day One in #Ukraine.
This is the daily thread on the major developments and my analysis after 20 years working in Ukraine and studying Putin.
Thanks to everyone for tip-offs. Read on!
Bombing and shelling continued in many Ukrainian cities overnight.
Late yesterday #Ukraine said that #Russia was preparing to surrender #Kherson, the only major city it controls.
The UK's daily intelligence update doesn't add much new information.
Following the horrors of #Bucha, the hints from #Borodyanka - I imagine we will get more from other settlements around #Kyiv today.
The capital's police says they've already recorded 1,200 alleged instances of war crimes committed by Russia.
Here's the daily thread for Day 41 of #Russia's full scale war, massacres, rapes + myriad other crimes and war crimes against #Ukraine
Ukraine, a nation which has never been at war in its short recent history until Russia's illegal invasions in 2014 and February 2022

Another night of heavy bombardment is ongoing.
Many cities hearing explosions - but most chat on social networks say the sounds seem like Russian missiles being hit by air defences. It's amazing how soon these guys become weapons audio experts.
Welcome to the weekend and to Day 38 of the Kremlin war on #Ukraine.
More morale problems for Russia with irradiated troops, heavy losses amid the withdrawal from #Kyiv and still question marks over the bombing of the fuel depot on Russian soil.
All the news, all day, in this🧵
I am still gathering news and data on the Russian attacks on #Ukraine during the night.
#Kharkiv again looks to be worst hit, with endless explosions heard. Some fires burn - this one video submitted. Remember exact locations cannot be revealed, hence the blurring
