#Kharkiv was attacked again overnight - the city and the region.
Two multi storey apartment blocks suffered damage from shelling as well as #Chuhuiv and numerous other villages.
Police report no injuries and released these photos of helping locals. #StopRussia
"For #Vinnytsia Day 4" - the message scrawled on #Ukraine's Air Force missiles.
They claim in the last 24 hours they've killed at least 35 Russian soldiers at a command and observation post of a company, a platoon base and 2 dozen pieces of equipment.
The General Staff said they had struck in NK with HIMARS, but there was no evidence. I think this is a new video (Novaya Kakhovka was also hit last week)
Formerly known as #Dzerzhynsk (still the name in Russian), it looks as though it's been shelled as smoke rises. #StandWithUkraine
After a relatively quiet frontline for a couple of days, there's little change to the total losses suffered by #Russia's army.
However, #Ukraine still estimates 150 soldiers killed y'day. It looks as though the death of 40,000 regular troops will be reached around 30-31 July
Very distressing for his family - video of the latest British Prisoner of War. It's impossible to know if this was under coercion, which is a #WarCrime
John Harding pleads to the PM to help. It's obviously illegal to execute, or threaten to execute, POWs
250 foreign fighters, 7 armoured vehicles, 12 special vehicles destroyed in one attack on #Kostyantynivka (RU: #Konstantinovka) where 100s still shelter in the sacred Lavra.
10 MLRS + 2 helicopters supposedly hit too.
NO PROOF!!
A little political news from #Ukraine regarding the President's controversial "sackings"
It emerged overnight his action may be unconstitutional; even in Martial Law he's supposed to submit his will to the Parliament.
So now Venediktova & Bakanov miraculously now only 'removed'
The (unholy) head of Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill could've been speaking about himself, supposedly it was about 'the west'
"In our evil age, there are many ways to crush people, deprive them of national identity, their faith and deprive them of a sense of patriotism
Not connected to the war, but interesting news in #Russia
Zalim Kerefov, Vice-rector of an academy which trains Customs Officials, has reportedly killed himself in prison, leaving a suicide note admitting his crimes
He was arrested on suspicion of trafficking the drug mephedrone
In #Mykolaiv a car showroom was wrecked when a missile landed just outside.
OMG Russians are insane!
Yet again pushing the *secret/dangerous/illegal bio-labs
"In Pentagon supervised bio-labs in #Ukraine, there were leaks" says Rada Dep.Chair Irina Yarovaya
"This partly explains the growth of epidemics in Ukraine
* delete as appropriate depending on day
Oops!
One of #Russia's Mi-8 helicopters has had an "unorthodox landing" in Gatchina, about 40km south of St Petersburg.
The National Guard chopper is badly damaged but 3 on board survived.
#Russia highly sophisticated army, feared throughout the world, invaded #Ukraine with maps 50 years out of date🤣🤣
#Ukraine Intelligence released a photo of maps they found in the invaders' belongings along with an up to date map showing the differences around #Kharkiv
Revenge is a dish best served from a fridge?
In a film by journalist Irina Shikhman about the parents of a dead soldier from #Russia's Irkutsk region, their fridge has a guarantee sticker written in Ukrainian - highly likely among the goods stolen by the horde.
The Swedish clothing group is selling off stock before leaving. Only 4 months too late - wonder how much they contributed to #Putin's war chest and war crimes before deciding to leave?
More on the #Ukraine fridge which ended up 1000s of km away in #Irkutsk in the family of a dead Russian soldier.
Here's the photo evidence and here's the link for the full video
Russians have destroyed another 5,000 tonnes of grain by hitting a storage warehouses in #Dnipro
Regional Head Valentyn Reznichenko says it happened in the Synelnyki district. "Another blow hit a school. The facade and roof were damaged, more than 50 windows were broken."
Another big hit for #Ukraine in occupied #Kherson region I think.
Spectacular sight in #Beryslav, a small town on the banks of the Dnipro river, close to #NovayaKakhovka.
Locals say it's a Russian base.
The Soviet league is a step closer - no doubt Putin's dream!
#Russia's sports minister has proposed a league for teams from "friendly republics" i.e. all those banned from competing. He also included #Donetsk, #Luhansk and #Kherson in the fantasy.
Some Russian news agencies are reporting that #Siversk has been captures by the invaders.i don't believe that's true from my information. There is still heavy atreet fighting in the city itself.
The #UN says there's no agreement yet for #Ukraine to export grain via the Black Sea.
As so often, #Russia gained great PR in 'allowing' food to leave port, but the reality proves different.
Spokesman for the Sec. General, said "little progress had been made on the grain issue."
This was when explosions happened near the Hydro Electric plant in #NovayaKakhovka a little earlier.
Not sure if this is anything of relevance, but given the location thought I'd mention it. It's in Chaplynka near #Kakhovka. Something is burning and armoured vehicles trundle to and fro.
Continuing Putin's attempt to turn the clock back to the time of the Soviet Union, the special operation to recreate the Holodomor genocide is going according to plan.
Only info I am getting from #Odesa right now is from local chat sites.
Reports there of 3 missiles, one, maybe 2 in the city and one in the wider region. Some are confident at least one of the explosions was a missile being shot down.
Christmas Day 2024. Day 1036 of the war inflicted on #Ukraine. The third Christmas for Ukrainian people to suffer. Empty chairs at the dinner table, that will never be filled again. Others at the frontline fighting for their lives and the life of the country.
It's the daily🧵
So Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah to those celebrating.
A special shout out too, to those working this special day. Also working today, emergency workers in #Ukraine after another massive missile attack
Day 1001 of #Russia's all out war in #Ukraine.
The genocide & attempt to wipe its neighbour from the map continues, but #Putin's increasingly desperate.
Welcome to another daily🧵
Breaking news already early this Wednesday morning.
All the news, all day (and night) every day.
Tuesday 19 November was always going to be special. Day 1,000 and what a day it proved.
Record likes and retweets, thanks to everyone who revived my faith in the T witter audience🫂
1/2 First the breaking news - and a third attack of the night inside #Russia.
At the end of yesterday's thread you may have read of the drone attacks on #Voronezh and #Belgorod regions. Well now it's become clear that #Novgorod has also been attacked by #Ukraine's UAVs..
Here's the link back to all Monday's news.
More heinous attacks. On its day of mourning, #Sumy was hit again just as the day ended, and #Odesa lost another ten residents.
Let me start today's news in #Sumy, because sadly the number of killed + injured after #Russia's strike have both increased.
An 11th person died during the night while 89 people required medical treatment. Medics, rescuers, psychologists and volunteers worked through the night.
Day 998 of #Russia's all out war, and Sunday 17 Nov is the day #Moscow's war criminals chose for the big missile attack on #Ukraine
It's such a difficult time for anyone associated with Ukraine. With the election of Musk/Trump, Putin's convinced terrorism will win.
Here's the🧵
Before I forget, here's the link for yesterday's thread. I know many of you like to catch up on what you've missed in #Ukraine and stories connected to the war.
Hello and welcome to Day 996 of #Russia's barbaric war.
Putin's band of war criminals is throwing everything at #Ukraine's defenders for 2 months as the Kremlin is certain tRUmp will force negotiations and wants to be in the strongest position possible.
Here's the daily thread
#Russia is literally teetering on the edge of economic meltdown. If the west does not take this opportunity to ensure justice, protect borders and prosecute war criminals, historians will look back and shake their heads. They may also ask why do anything in the previous 3 years?
Anyway, let's get on with the stories of the day, although we start as ever with the link back to Thursday's thread.
It was a day which saw more problems for #Russia, more war crimes with a civilian shot dead on the street and a terrible attack on #Odesa
