Indiegogo Shadow Ban on creators is detrimental,

Censored projects can not be found by users on the site unless they have the direct URL,

Doesn't appear on the front page, explore or give users notifications even if they favorited or donated before

ie: Shane Davis was the 2nd highest grossing comics campaign of Nov. yet it never appeared outside of his specific URL page

Significantly hurting potential funds he might have raised otherwise

Medium sized projects like Jason Bascom's @Frog_G_ - got shadow banned by Indiegogo

as did tiny ones that you've never heard get the shaft

It's easy to see that a comics project from someone outside of the industry or a first time creator would be stuck if this Shadow Ban happened to them

It's not just the names we know that are hurt by censorship here,

all the projects that we will never hear of now

What's weird is Indiegogo makes 5% on every campaign

it's in their best interest to promote & encourage successful comics campaigns as much as possible

if theyre censoring projects
the reason must be pretty big

Even before Covid it was unprofitable most years & revenue neutral at best

2019 they invested heavily into China

turns out that was a very bad idea

Indiegogo may not have to file a public report for investors, but based on their prior health & this

+ what we're hearing from crowdfunder insiders
Indiegogo is beyond broke & heading towards imminent collapse

w/out a report to prove it
still an allegation, but STRONG

I advise creators to be careful putting projects onto Indiegogo & to have a backup plan

For shadow-banned creators, there really isn't a good fix other than to establish an SEO link to promote the Indiegogo URL

creators must improvise, adapt and try to overcome
