Apparently, some of you consider yourself experts on cancer treatment but don't have any idea about up-and-coming data on the use of a #ketoenic diet as an adjunct for #cancer treatments. (1/9)
This thread holds some links to researchers talking about using ketogenic diets as an adjunct treatment for some cancers. People way smarter than me about the subject, and quite frankly probably better educated than you on the topic. 🤷 (2/9)
I don't want you all discouraging someone from asking their oncologist about it when it could be instrumental in saving their life or quality of life. That's not cool. Some of you need to check yourselves. #ethics (3/9)
This one is my fav. There is a whole half-day devoted to discussion about this. It's worth the investment. You will learn a ton. CMEs are earned at this conference. This is not fringe science. (4/9) metabolichealthsummit.com
Anyone who knows anything knows this has been seriously studied by Dom's lab for a while. Also, not what I would call a fringe scientist. (5/9) #justsayin
Here is another talk where CMEs (doctor's education credits) are earned. Except in Australia. (6/9)
How about two more from a CME (doctor education) event in Australia? I don't want you all to think I make this stuff up. (7/9) #cancer#ketogenicdiet#ketones
Do you know what's really good for brain health? NOT getting cancer in the first place. Do you know what is helpful to mediate the negative effects of going through chemo and radiation? A ketogenic diet and/or fasting appropriately. (8/9)
I believe you have a right to know all the ways you can feel better. And this might be one of them. People deserve to at least know about it as an option. Retweet the beginning of this thread if you believe the same. (9/9)💜

Yes, and let's be crystal clear. Putting young women on hormonal birth control can create serious mood disturbances and, in some cases, suicidal ideation. Parents (and teens) trying to be proactive to prevent pregnancy need to be made aware of this. (1/4)
I have had more than one female client between the ages of 14-20s who after receiving months of psychotherapy were not improving. I provided resources for actual informed consent they should have had access to in the beginning from their doctor. (2/4)
They decided to stop temporarily. Their suicidal ideation and mood disturbances vanished. So do many of the comorbid "relationship problems" with parents and partners) vanished. This needs to be on every parent and teen's radar. It's no joke, and it's very real. 3/4
A case series was published on the effects of a #ketogenicdiet on individuals with both obesity and binge eating disorder. #bingeeatingdisorder (1/8)
They reported a decrease in depression scores in participants and a decrease in binge eating severity (number of episodes & frequency). #depression#bingeeatingdisorder#eatingdisorders (2/8)
Not only that, but the Yale Food Addiction Scale also decreased, indicating progress in overcoming addictive behaviors related to food. #foodaddiction#bingeeating (3/8)
A woman with severe depression and various symptoms, including suicidal thoughts, #PMS, #panicattacks, #chronicpain, and poor #sleep quality switched to a carnivore diet. (1/5)
She experienced significant improvement in her symptoms and overall mood after switching on #carnivore after just seven weeks. (2/5)
She reported weight loss, improved sleep, better concentration, and no dip in mood during her cycle. She states that the diet is 100 times better than any medication she has ever taken. (3/5) #brainhealthmatters#carniovore#metabolicpsychiatry#nutritional psychiatry
Things I read online: "I have MS, and brain fog is part of that diagnosis. A ketogenic diet can't treat my brain fog" 🧵(1/5)
A pilot study evaluated the safety and permissibility of a ketogenic diet (Modified-Atkins form) in 20 patients with relapsing #MS. They presented a decrease in levels of proinflammatory adipokines at three months on #KetogenicDiet (2/5)
Another study in 2020 reported improved disease states and a promising immunomodulatory effect of the #KetogenicDiet on 111 relapsing–remitting #MS patients (3/5)
@Metabolic_Mind It's ok to have hope that you can feel better. When you are suffering from any of these disorders, hope is a little scary. You don't want to be disappointed. Sometimes it's easier to practice acceptance of how you are feeling. (3/12) #hope#spoons#chronicillness
