1/ While I haven't talked about it yet, I've been #carnivore throughout August as an experiment. But I switched to #KetoAF (basically carnivore, but with higher fat-to-protein ratio) for this final week before the month is over. <I took labs at the switch off, of course>
2/ Credit to @siobhan_huggins for twisting my arm into this as it has been quite illuminating. One sneak preview observation is that it truly is the most satiating of anything I've tried to date. I've found I can straight up consume less food overall while at these ratios...
3/ Also, mega props to @KetoCarnivore, who has really pioneered some excellent work in this area. I'm excited to see what her new data shows along with the many others working through these new parameters.

1/ (Thread) Some people have asked me to share more about my weight loss and fitness journey. I don’t talk a lot about it, mostly because I’m super embarrassed by the photo on the left. I know 267 was my highest weight- but I’m not sure I was actually 267 in that particular photo
2/ But I didn’t like having my photo taken at that weight (odd for a professional performer, right?) Anyway, I was suffering from Hashimoto’s with not a lot of help from an Endocrinologist, beyond the advice of “lose weight.” Obvi. I was trying.
3/ I was also in a very stressful/negative work environment. I was eating a whole foods diet, and hardly ever ate processed foods or dined out, and was doing cardio 3 times a week. No weight loss. I felt terrible. So I started tracking everything I ate through MyFitnessPal.

He was born in the Bronx of New York City, his family moved when he was a toddler to California, where his father worked as a stuntman

Vince grew up wanting to a dancer originally, but then became a stuntman like his dad
He took up stunt work at the age of 22, but he quickly realized he lacked the muscle for it

He went to the Easton Brothers gym in Hollywood to train

The Easton gym still exists today, and in its day it was one the original “bodybuilding meccas”

1/12 I’ve been tweeting about #T2DM and my #LCHF diet for about a year. Here are some of my observations. I DO observe that a LCHF way of eating has helped me lose weight, sustain that weight loss and get my Type2 into remission. So I advocate it as a method for others try
2/12 – I DO observe a large cohort of other people achieving similar success in removing obesity or reversing #T2DM via #LCHF or their variants, #Keto , #paleo , #carnivore , #banting or #atkins
3/12 – I DO NOT observe large cohorts of people achieving and advocating success in reversing #T2DM through other methods. I would like to; we would all like to; more sustainable options means more patients with better outcomes

I am now 7 months in and there has been dramatic improvement in my wellbeing. My transition was particularly difficult. I started to get terrible cramping in my abdomen, the return of bloat, some depression, fuzzy headedness. Most of it went away in 4 weeks. 27)

My #carnivore experience, in 2 threads (Part 1: On August 26th 2018 I began only eating beef with salt, and drinking water. Nothing else. My intention was to remain on this very strict diet for at least 30 days, perhaps longer depending on outcome. 1)
You see, for as long as I can remember I’ve had digestive issues that have caused a variety of symptoms, from headaches to bloating and nausea, to fatigue, to fissures. I’ve always had them to some degree, but at times in my life they were debilitating. 2)

People, I’m not a #Carnivore

I RT @SBakerMD, @MikhailaAleksis and others b/c I find the anecdotal evidence powerful

Clearly an all meat diet can have extraordinary health effects, that’s unarguable in the face of so many peoples health transformations
Whether the carnivore diet is universally “right” for everyone

That’s not my position at all

But it does seem to be beneficial for a large segment of the population

And it certainly defies the narrative of the mainstream media espouses
Your health is your responsibility and you are your greatest experiment

Find what works for you and makes you vibrant
