Sunday is Day 438 of #Russia's catastrophic full invasion of #Ukraine
Each day you've been able to find all the news of Europe's war in one place with these daily threads.
It's all free, but if you can support what I do with a coffee I'd be very grateful ko-fi.com/twmcltd
I forgot this yesterday (thanks Dave for remembering!) so let's do this straightaway!
As I post so much, people couldn't find the start of the previous day's thread, which they found handy to review what they missed. So here's the start of Saturday's feed
#Ukraine was attacked last night. Here's a summary:
#Dnipropetrovsk region - again huge artillery fire on #Nikopol with one dead and 3 injured. #Mykolaiv region - a ballistic missile hit "an industrial enterprise" #Kyiv - a reconnaissance drone was shot down in the region.
More u-turns + nonsense from #Wagner boss Prigozhin
He now says the main aim "was not to take #Bakhmut, but to 'grind' the units of #Ukraine's army to give some respite to #Russia's troops"
Prigozhin also says they've now captured 95% of the town and "the operation is complete"
Interesting article here by my friend @DomCulv suggesting another little known partisan group inside #Russia may be responsible for many of the "accidents" and incidents befalling the Kremlin.
More sabotage in #Russia, but the authorities this time say they thwarted a new attack on the railways.
Arsonists set fire to a relay box in #Novosibirsk, but the fire was noticed by a train driver and it was extinguished "before any damage was done" and trains were unaffected.
Occupiers say 10 of #Ukraine's drones attacked overnight. But #Russia says they only shot down two, one fell out of control, but no mention of the other 7
Of course they claim "no damage", but there is online talk of a blast in Streletskaya Bay.
More on the last tweet.
Photos of one of the drones, thought to be fired by #Ukraine, which was shot down over #Crimea.
This debris was found near Cape Fiolent in #Sevastopol.
The Head of the world's nuclear watchdog, @rafaelmgrossi says “the situation near the #Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is becoming increasingly unpredictable and potentially dangerous."
IAEA Staff confirm evacuation of #Enerhodar has begun.
#Russia's desperate recruitment is not going too well and the prisons are almost exhausted. They need the troops of the Minsk regime and an attack around Victory Day celebrations, attributed to Ukraine, may do the trick.
Widespread reports of #Russia moving heavy equipment through Occupied #Mariupol' to strengthen defences in #Zaporizhzhia region where #Ukraine's attack is seemingly imminent.
5 people are injured after missiles his #Balakliia in #Kharkiv region. This was one of the towns liberated during #Russia's "gesture of goodwill" last summer.
An S-300 rocket hit a car park. Two women aged 50 and 75 were taken to hospital, the other three had minor injuries.
Flames have now reached dachas and homes in the settlement north-east of #Yekaterinburg. Locals volunteered to help, but many seem to be taking photos and selfies!
Some of the volunteers in fire-stricken #Sverdlovsk are watering vegetation that survived the fire.
A very brave soul was spotted this morning in #Mariupol'
Maybe he was encouraged by the sounds of explosions in the occupied city this lunchtime. It seems likely to be demolition/demining work around the Azovstal plant.
Are are too many scare stories for the public in #Russia and if they'll lose faith in the leadership?
Now the FSB claims it's foiled a attack at the Severny airfield near #Ivanovo. They allege a far-fetched plot involving weapons swaps in #Tula region and drones from #Chernihiv
#Turkey defied #NATO to do the deal with Moscow a few years ago. Now Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu says the US offered to replace the system with better air defence if the S-400 was sent to #Kyiv.
#Ukraine says #Russia fired 5 Kh-22 missiles during the night.
In #Mykolaiv damage but no casualties according to officials. Local TG channel novostiniko posted this video but I cannot guarantee this was from the overnight attack.
Seems as though the Kremlin called #Prigozhin's bluff - or is it vice-versa?
#Russia's MoD says it is giving more ammo to #Wagner mercenaries and General Surovikin has been revived 4 months after being sacked, he's now a glorified go-between for the two sides.
One of #Russia's most popular war blogs claims #Ukraine attacked #Crimea with 23 drones overnight.
However of course they believe all of them were shot down.
The Russian MoD since said 22. But we've still only had photos of wreckage of one UAV which in itself is suspcious.
I wrote a little earlier I was not sure whether a video posted by a Telegram channel in #Mykolaiv (RU: #Nikolaev) was new.
Now there are photos of the damage to a factory which produced sausages in #Sebyne, 20km north of Mykolaiv city. #Russia fired five missiles overnight.
hahahahaha Bunker Boy is too frightened to poke his head outside even for the great 9 May parade in #Moscow.
It's been announced #Putin will lead the celebrations "by video link" from his cough, cough, "office"🤡🤡
Shocking "before" and "after" photos of one of the Prisoners of War released from a Russian jail yesterday.
#Ukraine's Yevhen Chudnetsov is the man who was a PoW for a second time having been captured in 2015. During his captivity then he claims his teeth were knocked out.
#Russia's "head" of the occupied bit of #Zaporizhzhia says they've removed 1,552 people in the evactuation of 18 towns + villages in the region
632 children are among those moved.
Russia also says others have privately escaped - likely those who collaborated or took 🇷🇺passports
Another smal deception of #Russia's society. Today is "Radio Day" in the Terrorist State. They honour the memory of Aleksandr Popov who "invented the radio"
Except of course, he didn't. The first message of any kind Popov transmitted was a year later than Italy's Marconi.
Nope not #Russia at all, but the scene in #Frankfurt shortly after a court in Berlin overruled police and allowed the displaying of Russian flags and war-symbols for Victory Day.
Previously a ban on #Ukraine flags had been lifted.
📹Telegram
This time in #Moscow.
Some are specualtively writing it's the FSB academy building, but this video clearly shows the blaze is yet another fire at a building under construction.
It's happening so frequently, one has to wonder if developers are running out of cash.
Thank you "T Guy"
He just bought me my first coffee of the day!

The fires I reported on y'day in #Pervomaiskii have now spread to enflame another village in #Sverdlovsk
Here a family returned to their home in #Verkhoturka to collect valuables, only to see their friends houses completely burned down, and then their own too.
Also in #Sverdlovsk, further south, on the road to neighbouring #Kurgan oblast, this is the apocolyptic scene. Many houses there already said to be on fire too.
#Tyumen is another nearby region also in a state of emergency due to fire.
What fire service doing?
Once again #Russia has shelled #Kharkiv oblast and a 67 year old woman's been hospitalised.
A 62 year old woman's being injured during more shelling by #Russia of coastal villages in #Kherson oblast.
Artillery hit the woman's home in #Yantarne while 5km away 5 guided aerial bombs smashed into #Kizomys again. Seven homes were damaged there as was the gas pipeline.
A #Ukraine soldier shows how his phone saved his life.
Another reminder of the damage #Russia can cause through social media.
They have no morals, no concerns. They will pay racists or left wing radicals, murderers or religious fanatics. All Russia wants it to make division and discord.
The number of victims in yesterday's de-mining tragedy in #Kherson, has climbed to nine - President Zelenskyy announced the news in his evening address.
#Ukraine sappers were hit by Russian shells as they tried to make land safe from landmines.
#Kyiv - at the end of yesterday's thread, just before midnight UK time, I showed video of a car on fire after drone wreckage fell on it after being shot down.
Now Mayor of the capital, @Vitaliy_Klychko has confirmed there are injuries, four in total in two different incidents.
Two of the injured in #Kyiv have been hospitalised.
Another explosion is reported in the capital now too.
If you are citizen of the Commonwealth, Happy Coronation Day, or if you're a Republican, just enjoy the weekend😅
This is the daily thread for Saturday with all the news in one thread, updated throughout the day.
Let's start in occupied #Crimea, where chat sites make pleasant reading this morning:
08:04 "A loud bang was heard in the #Krasnogvardeyskoye district"
08:05 "a good roar sounded. Dzhankoy-Krasnogvardeyskoye"
08:05 "strong 'cotton' in Krasnogvardeyskoye."
Here's what was seen
#Russia's Occupiers on #Crimea insist air defence worked in the north of Crimea "there were no casualties or destruction"
Oh but then the Kerch Bridge was unexpectedly closed. Guards told these people "threat of an attack" but later authorities say it's "for technical reasons"🤡
The UK's daily intel report inspects the rails of #Russia after the spate of sabotage attacks recently. These attacks far more believable than the pantomime drone strike on the Kremlin.
Some breaking news, we are learning about repeated explosions in #Zaporizhzhia this morning.
S-300 anti aircraft missiles again being used by #Russia to attack civilians, but monitoring groups say one exploded just after launch, before it crossed the frontline.
It's noisy.
The weather has improved in #Ukraine. But though the ground may be drying out a little on the frontline, conditions are still incredibly tough.
An early start to Wednesday's daily thread because Ukraine is under attack again.
All the news, all day in one handy thread.
See link in my bio if you want to buy me a coffee💙💛
There was so much news on Tuesday.
You can review or catch up on what you missed right here, with the start of yesterday's thread, with stories about another train sabotage in #Russia, more fires, and how the man who killed Litvinenko in London suffers..
